Wallpaper Materials

As standard, our murals are printed onto high-quality fabric-backed wallpaper that has a smooth surface finish. But you may select an alternative high-quality material for your application, if you prefer.

Whichever material you choose, you should find it is easy to install and trim to fit your wall space and door perfectly.

All our wallpapers and prints are intended for application to normal wall surafces (standard paint finishes) and door surfaces (standard painted or varnished).

Traditional Smooth Surface Wallpaper (included as standard)

Our standard ‘paste the wall’ wallpaper is durable, wipeable and easy to install. The smooth surface has a satin matt finish that provides superb, vivid colour representation. Wall surfaces should be dry, flat with a smooth finish (standard emulsion paint). Fully fire rated for use in commercial interiors.

Traditional Linen Texture Wallpaper

Similar to our Traditional Smooth Surface Wallpaper but with a canvass-like texture that helps to reduce reflective light glare on the surface especially when viewed obliquely, such as on some corridor. It also helps to hide imperfections on the wall surface (such as where holes may have been filled in the past). Walls should be flat with a smooth finish (standard emulsion paint). Fully fire rated for use in commercial interiors.

Self-adhesive Laminated Wallpaper

This self-adhesive vinyl material is robust and tear-resistant. The applied laminate has a satin matt finish that adds some protection against wear and non-abrasive cleaning. It is very easy to install with a high-tack adhesive that will adhere to most wall surfaces that are dry, flat and have a smooth finish (standard emulsion paint). Painted wall surfaces that have a texture, such as that resulting from a paint roller, might reduce adhesion. Surfaces treated with additional coatings, such as anti-graffiti or anti-bac, may prevent adhesion. Fire rated for use in commercial interiors.

Self-adhesive Repositionable Wallpaper

This self-adhesive polyester material is tear-resistant and has a matt textured finish. It is very easy to install having a low-tack adhesive, with the added advantage of being repositionable if necessary. This material leaves no adhesive residue when removed and is recyclable. This material will adhere to most wall surfaces that are dry, flat and have a smooth finish (standard emulsion paint). Painted wall surfaces that have a texture, such as that resulting from a paint roller, might reduce adhesion. Surfaces treated with additional coatings, such as anti-graffiti or anti-bac, may prevent adhesion.

Door Prints are only suitable for application to completely flat doors. If you do NOT require the Door Print, please select the alternative mural without Door Print - indicated on the Information Tab.

Door Prints are only suitable for application to completely flat doors. All our Door Prints are printed onto a tough, self-adhesive vinyl material that is robust and tear-resistant. The applied laminate has a satin matt finish that adds some protection against wear and non-abrasive cleaning. They are easy to apply, with a high-tack adhesive that will adhere to most normal door surfaces with a smooth surface. Surfaces treated with additional coatings, such as anti-graffiti or anti-bac, may prevent adhesion. Fire rated for use in commercial interiors.

Suitable Surface Finishes for Wallpaper and Print Application

Our two Traditional Wallpapers are intended for application to walls finished with standard everyday emulsion paints, using a recommended heavy duty 'paste-the-wall' adhesive and suitable wall primer. Wall surfaces must be thoroughly dry (we recommend at least 8 weeks for newly plastered walls and 4 weeks for newly painted walls to dry out) and have a flat, smooth finish. To avoid wall blemishes showing through, surfaces should have uniform colour.

Alternative adhesives and primers are available for application to various other non-standard and/or more specialist wall surfaces and finishes, including those finished with gloss paints.

Our Self-Adhesive Wallpapers and Window Stick-Ups are intended for application to walls finished with standard everyday emulsion paints. Wall surfaces must be thoroughly dry (we recommend at least 12 weeks for newly plastered walls and 4 weeks for newly painted walls to dry out) and flat with a smooth finish. To avoid wall blemishes showing through, surfaces should have uniform colour.

Please note that Self-Adhesive wallpapers and prints can present problems with adhesion and durability in certain circumstances: The adhesives they employ can be adversely sensitive to moisture and some surface coatings. We recommend the application of these materials only to surfaces that are thoroughly dry, flat and smooth having been painted with standard emulsion paints or varnishes. Painted wall surfaces that are not smooth or have a texture, such as that resulting from a paint roller, might reduce adhesion significantly. Surfaces treated with additional coatings, such as anti-graffiti or anti-bac, may prevent adhesion entirely. Unfortunately, hard and fast guidelines on what constitutes suitable surfaces do not exist and we cannot offer any guarantees in this regard. Each application should be considered individually.

Our Self-Adhesive Door Prints are intended for application to doors finished with standard type paints and varnishes. Door surfaces must be flat and smooth (for optimum adhesion) and thoroughly dry (we recommend at least 4 weeks for newly coated surfaces to dry out).

If you are in any doubt about the suitability of your wall surface, we recommend that you apply a test piece and leave for an appropriate amount of time to determine that proper adhesion is achievable.
